is there a blog content feature or just "Story"
is there a difference between an open newswire content feature (for reposting from other sources) and original FCN/UNR user-generated content (ie "Story")?

Any idea what size in bytes that file was ?
It looked fine, maybe a lower weight or format may help.

That's much larger than it needed to be.
The site is still slow for me. It's not that it loads slowly, it's the scrolling down the page which is slow.

Good to here it's loading better, bummer about the scrolling tho. Gotta wonder what platform you are using cos my pc with vista seemed ok.
Maybe the layout needs to be considered for complexity, it may be a factor.

The reposting question is probably like this - the newswire content could go into the forums - for discussion purposes. This is still an unresolved point of consideration.
Original stories should be created as a Story - this section could/may get renamed to Headlines or Articles.
Moving toward a blog ... 'Books' are a container for entries in Story/Forum/Gallery/Date. So a Book can have an opening descriptive page, then it holds references to other posts.
Now it maybe that is all that's required. (Renaming 'Books' to 'Blogs' or 'Journals' may work). Some simplicity was an objective here.
There is a Blog mode that is under review. If it fits the bill then that service will be enabled.
What benefits would you like from using a Blog ?
Do you have an example site in mind ? Please feel free to leave a URL.

the Books thing is an interesting concept.
